In 1908, C.A. Lakin and Harry McKey founded the Lakin-McKey Manufacturing Company in Fort Scott, Kansas. Their mission was simple: Provide farmers and ranchers of the Great Plains with bib overalls that could survive a sunup-to-sundown workday. They used heavy-duty denim, triple-needle stitched seams, and apparel that moved as easily as the people wearing them.
